It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Hi All!

It’s been a while! After a well needed summer break we are back! For all our wonderful Instagram and Facebook followers you will know that the preparation and planning for Christmas is well underway (yes; I just mentioned Christmas in October). I (Emily) thought it was about time that you get a look behind the scenes!

It all begins with Postit Notes....a lot of Postit Notes; and I mean Postit Notes everywhere! I make camp in the living room with a cup of tea in hand and something mind numbing on the TV. The beloved Postits all over the living room table ready to be sorted. This is when my job gets tricky, narrowing down the fudge flavours we will be taking to all our events this season. I start with around 60 to choose from and can take only 10. At the same time, I will be trying to come up with a brand new flavour (no mean feat when you have over 60 flavours already available to you). This Christmas sees the return of many oldies but goldies as well as Gingerbread and Chocolate; this year's invention.

So; the planning is done and the living room tidy, what next? The ingredients shop. All I’m going to say on this topic is that Tesco make a lot of money from Emily’s Fudge Kitchen, on the flip side I do pretty well for Clubcard Points too (thank you Tesco)!

With the ingredients in the house it’s time to begin production. Spread over a couple of weeks, this is a messy time of year. If you know me well you’ll know that the production process is like walking into a bomb site.....it’s organised chaos, I promise!

The next step is to get the fudge into trays and in the fridge ready to be cut into chunks to go on the cart at the first event of the season. To find out where we are going to be, check out our callendar page.

Let Christmas begin and see you soon!

XOXO
